I was in the salon, getting my nails done when all of a sudden, I heard a beep on my phone. 1 message received.
A text message coming from an unknown number…

My heart started beating so fast. There’s only one person I know who texts me that way.
Me: Yes? Cno po cla?
0917*******: ***
Me: O bkt?
***: Am sorry. For everything.
Me: I can’t 4give u. Not just yet. U hav no idea wat i went through all those years.
***: Alryt.. I shall wait until u can but i want u 2 know am sorry.
Me: U dnt hav 2 w8… I thot i alrdy made myslf clear. I dnt want u in my life. I dnt believe in u anymore. Sory but u broke me… I hope dis is gonna be the last tym u’ll txt. Im dealng wid a lot of thngs ryt now. Work, a sexual harassment case against a co-worker, family. Marami ron. Marami. I can’t deal wid u anymore.
Nangingilid ang luha ko kanina. Tinamaan ako sa sarili kong mga salita. : ( A lot of things happened last year and dealing with him is the last thing that I wanna do right now. I know I’ll forgive him eventually but I’m pretty much sure that I won’t give him the privilege to know that I already have once that time comes. I just want the vicious cycle to stop: he does something to hurt me and then after a few weeks, I’ll forgive him. Then everything goes back to normal and then he hurts me again. The cycle just goes on and on and on. Saying “Sorry but you broke me” is probably one of the most honest things that I’ve ever told him. (or anyone else for that matter)
I couldn’t be that person anymore… the one who always tries to understand. And when I told him that we can’t be friends anymore, he said “I hope you can stand to that decision.” (Whatta jerk!) And now I am keeping my word. I don’t like keeping grudges. It’s against my nature. But if this is the only way to keep him away from me, then so be it.
P.S. This is not me getting angry. This is me begging not to be hurt anymore.
